Technique on How to Apply Magnesia Based Desulfuration Agent in Molten Iron 1.Desulphuration Process After measuring the temperature of molten iron ,taking sample and taking out sinter ,inject the mixed magnesia based desulfuration agent to 2/3 deep in the molten iron under the oxy pressure at the desulfuration station . Afterwards ,clean sinter ,measure temperature and take sample. 2.Components of Mixed Materials Passivation magnesium powder :15-20% ,Calcium oxide based material :80-85% *Passivation Magnesium Powder Mg ≥92% ,S ≤0.002% ,H2O <0.5% ,fire point 560-600 ℃ ,burning time(1200-1300 ℃ ) 8-15 seconds. IC angle <30° , The granularity is determined according to the size of a spray gun ,generally 0.1-1.1 mm. *Calcium Oxide Based Material Active lime 90%,cand powder 5% ,graphite powder 5%
3.Processing Index *Input amount :passivation magnesium powder /one ton of steel :0.4-0.75 Kg . magnesium powder /one ton of steel :2.26-4.25 Kg *Desulphuration temperature: >1300 ℃ *Depth of spray gun in the molten iron :2/3 deep in the molten iron *Pre-pressure of spraying and blowing :0.45 Mpa *Pressure Head :0.08Mpa Spraying and blowing speed :30-40 Kg/min *Transmission of N2:0.7 m3/min 4.Use Method Generally, spraying and blowing is mixed for use .Passivation magnesium powder is mixed with Calcium oxide based material and then the mixed materials are put into the stoeage tank at the desulphuration station. Providing that spraying and blowing is used separately ,you use the above method for reference and do it according to comparison of initial sulphur content. 5.Desulphuration Effectiveness Use 0.2-0.3 Kg of the mixed powder for a ton of molten iron and sulphur content will be reduced by 0.001%.
